How to Book a Cabin in the Hocking Hills
Go here and at the bottom on the page fill out the “Availability Search” form and put in the dates you want to visit and then click on the search button. What you will get is a number of cabins that match what you have selected.
Look them over and click the ones you are interested in. Click on their websites and you will see that most have rates, availability and contact information. Call them to ask questions and then make your reservation.
A word of caution: The cabin owners themselves are responsible for this updating of availability on the internet. Don’t be surprised if you call them and the cabin you wanted is already booked. If they have five cabins and you wanted the lodge, they may only have a two person cabin left so they will show they have availability.
Also, many of the cabin owners operate offices out of their homes and when they are gone they have no office staff to get their calls. Be prepared for lots of answering machines. Leave a phone or email message at all the cabins that you are interested in. They will get back with you because they want your business.
What do you look for? Well that’s up to you. The beautiful thing about the web is that there are pictures to look at. If you want a rustic cabin, or a cozy cottage or a lodge for a large group – they are out there. You have to give yourself some time to investigate all the possibilities because there are 850 privately owned cabins to choose from.
Or save yourself a ton of time and ask for a personal recommendation from a friend, neighbor, or a relative. If you know someone that visits the “Hills” on a regular basis, ask them where they stay. That’s probably the easiest because it at least gives you a place to start.
If you make a reservation over the internet, please call and confirm and get all the necessary information. Talking to the owner or reservation person is always best. You can get directions at this time as well and they will answer any of your questions about their accommodations.
You can also stop in and visit the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center. (See picture above). They are located at 13178 State Route 664 South, Logan, Ohio 43138 or you can phone them at 1-800-462-5464.
