Now is the beginning of spring and the early wildflowers in the Hocking Hills are already out. The Trillium is our state wildflower and there is even a Trillium Festival with the Appalachia Ohio Alliance on April 16th at 10:30 am at Mathias Grove near Rockbridge. Hikes are scheduled at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. There will be a potluck lunch at 12:30 – table service, meat, drinks and ice cream are provided, but you may choose to bring your own service. At 1 pm they will have a notable speaker and special presentation.
Following the afternoon hike there will be a 30 minute garlic mustard harvest, for those who would like to participate. No pets, please. Please park along Bailey Rd. (County Road #27). You may drive back the lane to drop off food or persons requiring assistance. If you are unable to hike, please come anyway to socaiize (lawn chairs are optional).
